- Contraindications:
- Knee Problems
- Equipment:
- Floor Based
- Applicability:
- Group&Focus
- Superset?:
- Yes
- Sprint-able?:
- No
Key Teaching Points:
- 1. Rebound out of the bottom with hip drive, not by leaning the chest forward.
- 2. Engage the core before initiating any movement.
- 3. Drive knees in line with the second and third toes throughout the full range.
- 4. Full foot contact with the floor — heel, arch, and ball stay grounded.
Regression:
Goblet squat with a light counterweight to reinforce an upright torso and depth simultaneously.
Progression:
Load the pattern with an uneven implement (single kettlebell, offset barbell) to increase lateral stability demand.
Common Problems:
Chest collapsing forward at depth — reinforce upright torso cue and reduce load until the position is owned.
