Key Teaching Points:

  1. 1. End range is where the real work happens — do not shy away from it.
  2. 2. Breathe into the back of the rib cage to maintain core pressure without flaring ribs.
  3. 3. Knees track directly under hips and hands directly under shoulders at the start.
  4. 4. Set neutral wrists — spread fingers wide for a larger base of support.

Regression:

Place a light weight on the lower back and focus on not letting it fall before adding movement.

Progression:

Increase the lever arm — extend limbs further before adding load or movement.

Common Problems:

Lower back sagging — cue posterior pelvic tilt and rib cage down. Hip rotation on limb extension — slow down and reduce range.
