- Exercise Type:
- Core Rotate
- Contraindications:
- Lower Back Problems
- Equipment:
- Floor Based
- Applicability:
- Group&Focus
- Superset?:
- Yes
- Sprint-able?:
- Yes
Key Teaching Points:
- 1. Engage the core before initiating any movement.
- 2. Both arms stay connected to the load; avoid one arm going slack.
- 3. Rotate to the point of tension in the end range, not until you lose spine position.
Regression:
Reduce the load or lever arm. Perform seated to remove the standing stability demand.
Progression:
Increase load, add rotational power by speeding up the concentric, or lengthen the lever arm.
Common Problems:
Collapsing the torso toward the load — reinforce upright posture before the rotation begins.
