Exercise Type:
Core Rotate
Contraindications:
Lower Back Problems
Equipment:
Floor Based
Applicability:
Group&Focus
Superset?:
Yes
Sprint-able?:
Yes

Key Teaching Points:

  1. 1. Engage the core before initiating any movement.
  2. 2. Both arms stay connected to the load; avoid one arm going slack.
  3. 3. Rotate to the point of tension in the end range, not until you lose spine position.

Regression:

Reduce the load or lever arm. Perform seated to remove the standing stability demand.

Progression:

Increase load, add rotational power by speeding up the concentric, or lengthen the lever arm.

Common Problems:

Collapsing the torso toward the load — reinforce upright posture before the rotation begins.
