- Contraindications:
- None
- Equipment:
- Floor Based, Low Bands
- Applicability:
- Focus
- Superset?:
- No
- Sprint-able?:
- Yes
Key Teaching Points:
- 1. Back knee lowers with control — tap the floor gently, do not crash.
- 2. Push the knee out on the descent to ensure it tracks over the toe.
- 3. The standing leg stays engaged even when it is the recovery leg.
- 4. End range is where the real work happens — do not shy away from it.
Regression:
Reduce stride length or use a TRX or wall for balance assistance. Perform a reverse lunge on the spot before adding forward movement.
Progression:
Add a loaded carry in the opposite hand to create an offset stability challenge.
Common Problems:
Front knee traveling too far forward — cue a big step and emphasis on the vertical shin.
