Key Teaching Points:

  1. 1. Neutral spine throughout; no rounding or hyperextension.
  2. 2. The goal is not to move — resist the force trying to pull you out of position.
  3. 3. Breathe in short, sharp bursts — do not hold breath for the full set.

Regression:

Reduce the lever arm — bring the load closer to the body. Widen the stance for more base stability.

Progression:

Increase the lever arm or add external resistance. Introduce a perturbation to make the hold reactive.

Common Problems:

Holding breath for the entire set — cue short sharp exhales every few seconds.
