Key Teaching Points:
- 1. Neutral spine throughout; no rounding or hyperextension.
- 2. The goal is not to move — resist the force trying to pull you out of position.
- 3. Breathe in short, sharp bursts — do not hold breath for the full set.
Regression:
Reduce the lever arm — bring the load closer to the body. Widen the stance for more base stability.
Progression:
Increase the lever arm or add external resistance. Introduce a perturbation to make the hold reactive.
Common Problems:
Holding breath for the entire set — cue short sharp exhales every few seconds.
